[Question to discuss] ICFP Contest tools

Lately it is not possible to participate in ICFP . But,  as well as many, a subject I track and I look at decisions of commands. Simple observation was found out. For  years top 10 commands of winners in the core used for the decision of tasks classical, in the core mainstream-ovye tools: a C ++, Java, C#, but not the functional languages. At first sight rather unusually, after all even title ICFP as though hints that compete . How you think, it is connected  on popularity mainstream or there are any more "fundamental" reasons?
